PROJECT COORDINATOR (St. Augustine Office)

MDG is growing and looking to hire a full-time Project Coordinator, preferably with prior experience in land development or construction. Ultimately, the Project Coordinator’s mission is to take as much “non-engineering” work off of their Project Manager as possible and help ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet MDG’s high quality standards. They work closely with Project Managers to perform project administration duties including, but not limited to:

  • Proposals & Contracts

  • Kick off 30/60/90 meetings

  • Project Budgets

  • Project Schedules & Deadlines

  • Responses to RFI/RAIs

  • Permitting Submittals

  • Client communication and satisfaction

  • Account Receivables

  • General administrative and office management shared between all support staff

 

To succeed in this role, excellent time management, team-work, multi-tasking and communication skills are critical, along with being well-organized and detail oriented. This role requires a positive, driven, and friendly personality.

 

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT (Jacksonville Office)

This position is for a full-time professional landscape architect to work closely with and assist our Director of Landscape Architecture. Candidates for this position must be a registered professional landscape architect, and capable of the design of projects from start to finish. Florida RLA registration required. The selected candidate will be expected to design landscape plans for a variety of project types such as for transportation/roadway projects, subdivisions, parks, paths and trails, etc., as well as prepare cost and man-hour estimates, prepare design and permitting schedules, manage project budgets and schedules, client and stakeholder coordination, and work closely with a team of engineers, planners, CAD technicians, and subconsultants.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the design, permitting, and execution of landscape related projects.

  • Florida Registered RLA.

  • Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and employees at all levels of an organization.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills with attention to detail.

  • High quality of work in a pressure environment with multiple projects occurring simultaneously.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet both time and budget requirements.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D preferred.

Jr. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT (Jacksonville Office)

LAND PLANNER (St. Augustine Office)

MDG is seeking a full-time land planner to organize and design plans for land use. This position will work in concert with our existing Sr. Land Planner and Landscape Architects to assist with  specialized planning functions such as large-scale new development and provide overall management of division-related and multidisciplinary planning issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews master plans and site plans for compliance with land development regulations;

  • Thoroughly reviews all documents for submittal, including technical documents such as due diligence reports and justification statements;

  • Create and maintain project schedules, from due diligence through entitlements and permitting;

  • Work with Sr. Planner to manage a multidisciplinary project team, maintaining schedules and tracking progress;

  • Active participation at staff meetings;

  • Represents projects to various councils, boards, commissions and elected officials;

  • Serves as liaison and performs all necessary functions in support of public hearings;

  • Assigns work to professional staff and ensures appropriate training is provided; Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities;

  • Attends substantial number of evening and weekend meetings.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be innovative, detail-oriented, experienced in highly visible/controversial projects;

  • Capable of managing multiple, high-priority assignments;

  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels and to resolve complaints;

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations;

  • Reading comprehension to understand technical and legal materials;

  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines;

  • Bachelors Degree in planning or a closely related field;

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the planning profession;

  • AICP Certification preferred;

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Photoshop;

  • Travel to other office locations may be required;

  • GIS training is helpful.  

 

CADD TECHNICIAN/DESIGNER (St. Augustine Office)

This position is responsible for providing engineering design support to the project management staff for retail, office, residential, municipal, and industrial development projects. CADD designers collaborate with our civil engineers to design a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to: roads and sidewalks, commercial complexes and buildings, small to large subdivisions, parks and recreational facilities, marinas, small airports, and churches and schools.

Responsibilities

  • Work from architectural plans and base files or land planning documents to produce engineering construction documents in AutoCAD/Civil 3D

  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout

  • Be proficient in preparing high-quality, innovative and accurate plan drawings in Civil 3D

  • Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision and red lines

  • Use creative design approach to solve design challenges and have meticulous attention to detail

  • Effectively monitor and manage budgeted hours and schedule deadlines of multiple projects at the same time to keep CADD tasks profitable and meet project schedules

  • Inform project manager(s) and client managers of progress on assigned projects and communicate design concerns

  • Have excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, along with a strong work ethic and sense of personal accountability

  • Be able to work cohesively in a team environment and have good verbal, written, and graphical communication skills

 

Education / Experience

  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design

  • Three or more years’ experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D for land development engineering design work

  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D

 

PROJECT ENGINEER 

MDG is growing and looking to hire a full-time Project Engineer. This position is responsible for assisting Project Managers and their team with projects, designs, and budgets.

Project Engineers collaborate with Professional Engineers and team members to design and provide support for a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to: roadways and sidewalks, bike paths and trails, commercial/industrial/educational/healthcare facilities, small to large residential developments, parks and recreational facilities, marinas, small airports, and churches.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with site design and permitting with various government agencies, storm water calculations and design, utility construction and design, and project production support

  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout

  • Be proficient in preparing high-quality, innovative and accurate plan drawings in Civil 3D

  • Effectively monitor and manage budgeted hours and schedule deadlines of multiple projects at the same time to keep all tasks profitable and meet project schedules

  • Inform project manager(s) and client managers of progress on assigned projects and communicate design concerns

  • Have excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, along with a strong work ethic and sense of personal accountability

  • Be a strong independent worker as well as being able to work cohesively in a team environment and have excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills


Education / Experience

  • BS in the field of Civil Engineering

  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D

 

SR. CADD DESIGNER (St. Augustine Office)


This position is for a full-time CAD designer with land development and/or transportation design experience.  CAD designers are responsible for providing engineering design support using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for a wide variety of project elements including site design, utilities, drainage, water and waste-water, grading, and roadway and parking lot designs.  CADD designers collaborate with our engineers to design a broad range of projects including, but not limited to: roads and sidewalks, commercial complexes and buildings, small to large subdivisions, parks and recreational facilities, marinas, small airports, and churches and schools.

Responsibilities
